Nepal Agricultural Market Development Programme (NAMDP) Phase-II also known as Sahaj operates under a bilateral agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of Switzerland. Sahaj is a Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) project, implemented by a consortium of Swisscontact (as the lead agency) and the Center for Environmental and Agricultural Policy Research, Extension and Development (CEAPRED). Sahaj provides financial and technical support towards the increased provision of services and access to innovation for agri-businesses in Province Number 1. This will increase demand for smallholders' produce, including them in value-added supply chains and building resilience in rural communities through higher employment and income. Peace Corps Nepal Vacancy Announcement
The United States Peace Corps Nepal office is hiring qualified candidates for short term contract positions that support our Volunteer Pre-Service Training. Applicants must be willing to live in a village around/outside of the Kathmandu valley from approximately the end of December 2022 through the end of April 2023; dates subject to change based on programmatic needs. This is a full-time position for the duration of the project (minimum of 40 hours per week); work during festivals & holidays that occur during the contract period may be required. This project-based contract may be renewed up to four future assignments without competition based on satisfactory performance, programmatic need, and availability of funds. Compensation is negotiable within a pre-determined range, based on salary history and experience. Preference is given to citizens residing in Nepal at the time of application. Training Administrative Assistant (TAA)
Bachelor's degree in Business/related field. Minimum one year experience in administrative support and logistics management in GO, NGO, or INGO. Good communication skills.
Training Site Secretary (TSS)
Secondary Education level degree. Ability to type in Nepali and English. Highly organized and ability to multi-task.
Lead Language and Culture Facilitator (LLCF)
Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Minimum six months experience in a role similar to a Peace Corps Language and Culture Facilitator (that is, teaching Nepali language and culture to foreigners) for an international organization. Strong knowledge of Nepali culture and ethnic diversity.
Language and Culture Facilitators (LCFs)
Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Minimum of one year teaching Nepali language locally and/or to foreigners. Knowledge of Nepali cultural value systems, practices and ethnic diversity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Willing to live with a Nepali family outside of Kathmandu for the contract period. Desired : ability to also speak Magar, Gurung or Far western dialects and experience working with marginalized communities in Nepal.
Technical Trainer (TT)
Bachelor's Degree in agriculture or related field. Minimum of one year work experience in the Agriculture or Food Security sectors. Experience in one or more : high value low volume crops, beekeeping, fruit tree cultivation, nutrition education. Experience in training session design and facilitation in related field. Training design, implementation and work experience in an intercultural environment.
